Texasholdem-poker.com
is interesting for quite a number of reasons. First, as the accompanying graph shows, it took a large traffic dip
between April 2006 and April 2007, well beyond the industry norm. This can be partly attributed to the "post-boom"
marketplace being more unkind to Texas Holdem-focused sites as opposed to more general poker sites (novices and
dilettantes are far more focused on Texas Holdem than the other games), but it certainly also reflects the domain
losing its vice-like grip on the top two slots for most Google Texas Holdem searches for a half a decade.
Texas Holdem searches are not as popular as poker ones, but they are still very high traffic. A comparison of the graphs
on this page and the one on the Learn-texas-holdem.com show that while there is a large drop March/April 2007 here, there is
a similar large spike there, reflecting Learn-texas-holdem.com taking over some of the #1 results long held by this site.
Texasholdem-poker.com underwent a redesign in 2007 which may or may not be looked on more favorably by search engines,
but in any case it remains one of the top Texas Holdem destination sites for web searchers.
The final thing to mention is the semi-oddball domain name. It's not Texas-holdem-poker and its not Texasholdempoker...
which makes one wonder why the owners of Onlinepoker.com, Texasholdem.com, Online-poker.com, Texas-holdem.com and a few
others have used their valuable domain names so ineptly over the years. Sure they make money, but as revenue-producers
they bring in a puny fraction of an oddly named domain that has dominated its niche for a long time largely by being
the best site with a close to exact match name. |
